We moved to New Zealand from South Africa in Oct 2008 and within
a couple of weeks I started looking for Ragdoll breeders. I came
across the Keepin-Katz website and made contact with Alison
immediately.
As we were still settling in, we were not ready for pets right
away and I kept Alison's email. A couple of months later we added a
puppy (Tess) to the family and I decided to contact Alison as Tess
needed a companion and a Ragdoll would be the best (and obvious)
choice. Lucky for us Alison and Roy had litters due and I made an
appointment to visit them.
When we got there, I immediately knew that we found the right
breeder. Just hours before we arrived two litters were born and we
had to be very quiet around the Moms and babies. I was surprised to
see that each Mom had a camera pointed at her and the babies.
Allowing Roy and Alison to keep an eye on them from the house.
We had to wait 12 weeks before we could bring Kimmy home but
could visit her as often as we liked. It was great to see how she
changed and got bigger every time we saw her. Finally, on 4 Dec
2009 we brought her home.
Alison and Roy were very helpful and had lots of advise and tips
for us. It was great to be able to buy many of Kimmy's supplies
from them as well. They went through a lot of trouble to help us
find good quality cat furniture and to choose the right one for our
little bundle of fur, who would grow up to be a big bundle of
fur.
Kimmy is as soft as cotton wool and those pale blue eyes just
makes you melt and give into her every need. She is very clever,
inquisitive, and fearless and the most beautiful cat in the world.
All our guests fall in love with her and cannot get over how
beautiful, sweet and adoring she is.
From the first time I let her out, she was quite happy,
exploring every little thing and getting to know her new
surroundings. She has explored every inch of the house and knows
all her favourite hiding places.
Both Kimmy and Tess were a little unsure when they met for the
first time and I was there to intervene at the slightest sign of
trouble but it was never necessary. Lucky for Tess, Kimmy is a true
Ragdoll and she never once clawed at Tess. Before we knew it, they
became the biggest friends and they take over the house.
Kimmy is very inquisitive and she needs to be involved in
everything we do. She is a perfect little lady and is not fazed by
anything at all. As all kittens, Kimmy loves to play with her toys.
The cat tunnel we got from Alison and Roy is a big favourite. She
is totally crazy and has way too much energy at times. Every day we
find ourselves laughing at her cuteness and it is so funny to watch
her and Tess playing.
Kimmy has found she has a voice and uses it often to let her
feelings and wishes known - especially when she is hungry. She
often calls Tess if she is in the mood for playing.
We are rather careful and protective over our little bundle of
joy and she is not allowed outside but she really, really wants to
and we have to be very careful when opening the doors.
We all really enjoy her and must thank Alison and Roy for
providing us with such a wonderful little girl. If anyone is a cat
lover, we would certainly recommend getting a Ragdoll as they are
the most lovable and affectionate breed and without hesitation
would recommend Alison and Roy Keepin, as Breeders of choice. Their
love and passion for what they do really shine through and Kimmy is
even more than we were wishing for.

This next message comes from Lorraine in Nelson, who ownes Rags.
Hello Alison & Roy,
Thought it's about time I sent you some new pics of the girl (and
her best friend) As you can see she is really growing, loves her
biscuits and tuna not so keen on the chicken (unless it's warm out
of the pot) Both Ed and I agree that she is 'Just Adorable'
......but Chico is absolutely besotted!! You may remember part of
the reason for choosing a Rag doll was that I hoped the two would
bond and that is certainly the case. Hopefully you can open the
short video attached, it shows the routine morning game between the
two of them. Occasionally I worry that Rags is being a little
overwhelmed but if I step in and make Chicory stop it's never very
long before there is a white blur pouncing to scrag her and restart
the game. They really are the best of friends, Rags is so loving
and interested in EVERYTHING. Wherever I go she is two steps
behind, nothing seems to faze her except if both Chico and I
disappear at the same time. Then there is the most mournful crying
followed by purring and patting when we reappear. She does now go
out in the garden with us but never likes to move too far out of
sight.
Thanks again for our beautiful girl.
Kind Regards
Lorraine
